seoul food for people who love to eat
Fatman would like to welcome our new guest columnist, Park Chan! Chan’s new to blogging, but no novice when it comes to eating and will be bringing you the skinny on the way Korean dudes chow down.
You know when you want to say something, but you really don’t know how to say it and you know it won’t sound quite right after you said it? That’s how I feel whenever I have to introduce myself and describe who I am.
Here’s the standard version
name: Chan Park
age: over 25
sex: male
hometown: I was born in Busan, Korea. But my hometown is Gainesville, Fl.
school: University of Florida
major: computer engineering (cise)
I work for Tmaxsoft and am a jr. researcher in framework division making multichannel integration package for KB(국민은행) and SHB (신한은행). (ask me if you don’t know what it means)
main interest: computer, finding food restaurants (맛집 찾기), and reading tech news on slashdot.
Here’s the heads up..
I wrote couple of articles for fatmanseoul, and I hope to write more whenever I get the chance to write about Korean lifestyles (since I don’t have one. . .)
I should start writing real bilingual columns for fatmanseoul because I said I would and I didn’t forget . . . I just need to actually sit down and write one in both Korean and English.
So, how about it Fatman? Do you think I can be a good food blogger??

Hey Chan,
My name is Mark. I am moving to Korea soon and I also live in Gainesville FL.
Do you know where to find good Korean food in Gainesville? I go to Shooting Star sometimes, other times I just make my own but I am not very good at it.
It would be great to chat with you some time. You can contact me via my website.
I have not been to Busan yet but I really want to go. I am moving to Daejeon.

Mark: Shooting Star? I don’t know that one. (before I left Gainesville, There were 2 korean restaurants: one by NW 13th st. and on Archer.. 놀부네 (grocery store) and I forgot what the other name was. if you are coming to Korea, are you coming to Seoul first then moving down to Daejon? seems like you’ve been around Korea before.

Chan, so you are not living in Gainesville any more?
I have been to Korea before but only for a short visit last summer.
I will come to Seoul first but I will move to the dorms at KAIST in Daejeon shortly after I arrive. I should be in Seoul in the last week of January.
Thanks and Merry Christmas
